While I have my own personal reasons as to why I loved this show, the performance itself stretches way beyond my own happy memories associated with it. Aldean opened with his debut single “Hicktown,” which is off his 2005 self-titled album. This upbeat, in your bones, small-town American song in my opinion, set the tone for his entire show as he brought himself and fans of his back to the very roots of his musical journey. He then went into 2010’s hits such as “Lights Come on,” “Burnin’ it Down,” “The Truth,” and my personal favorite, “Night Train.” Relatively newer songs of his such as “Whiskey Drink” and “If I didn’t love you” (with Carrie Underwood’s parts studio recorded and pictured on screens) were given spotlight as well, ultimately creating a perfect blend of older and newer hits. The songs we grew up with, and the songs we recognize because of that same twangy voice and energy within his tracks.

On the front of energy, however, I will say this performance had its differences. As someone who saw him back in 2020, pre-covid, this Aldean was different from who I saw then. While that Aldean was more energetic, shooting whiskey practically after every song, he seemed to be more composed, going with the flow in this 2025 tour. Call the performance differences the sign of the times or just plain old aging, the key factors of what make his performances so great, such as the passion he has for these songs, as well as the sentiment that the older guys on the country scene seem to capture so well, remained.

This West Palm show was the last date of his 2025 Full Throttle tour, but, If you haven’t seen him yet, I highly recommend catching him in January of 2026 as he will be continuing different legs of this tour with some international dates!
